Mark Barrett - Running Coach

Mark graduated as a physiotherapist from the University of Sydney in 1993. He has since studied further in numerous areas of physiotherapy as well as psychology and metabolism. Even delving into the animal physiotherapy world for a while during which time he was invited to Sea World to help in the management of a pilot whale. 

 

Mark has lectured in orthopedics and pain at Griffith University, spoken at pain symposiums, and lectured in sports injuries at Sports Medicine Australia courses. He currently speaks regularly on the topics of running and metabolism. 

A founding partner at PhysioLogic,  Mark enjoys working with all types of clients in this large Gold Coast based clinic. At PhysioLogic he has spent the past few years developing state of the art systems in the emerging area of metabolism testing, enabling Mark to give clients precise direction with weight management, general fitness and high performance sports programs. 

Having run over 20 marathons and 10 ultra-marathons Mark is definitely a keen runner who loves the challenge of endurance events. His love of running has seen him study extensively the technique and training aspects. Mark coaches running technique to runners of all levels at PhysioLogic as well as at his weekly running group which he conducts in conjunction with Therese Fossheim.
